Trump leads 2-point edge in Florida poll

Donald Trump has been leading by 2 percentage point over Hillary Clinton in Florida. According to a new poll published on Wednesday, both presidential campaigns covered the critical swing state with full sprint to Election Day.

A new Bloomberg Politics poll found that Trump is ahead of Clinton to 45% to 43%, within the poll's margin of error in 3.2 percentage point. Libertarian Gary Johnson got 4% support, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein drawn 2%. For example, Barack Obama won 29 electoral votes in 2012 by less than a percentage point.

This is a significant shift from Florida polling, which took place earlier this month, thst regularly pointed Clinton in the lead. A Quinnipiac University survey, had been taken after the the issue of the "Access Hollywood" recording of Trump and followed the second presidential debate. It  showed that Clinton has been leading by 4 percentage points, 48% to 44%.

Trump's edge has been driven by the advantage between Florida independents, among whom he got 44% compared to Clinton's 37%. Third-party candidates Johnson and Stein drawn 14% of the independent vote.

Trump and Clinton racked up big advantages among the core constituencies in the new poll.

Trump has won older voters (51%) and voters without a college degree (50%), and undeniably he is the strongest in more conservative, rural areas and in the northwest panhandle.

Clinton won Hispanics (51%) and voters under 35 (49%), and has been leading among non-whites, and college-educated voters. The Democrat also had a 30-point lead among Miami-area residents.

Veteran pollster Ann Selzer, who overlooked the poll, said  " The poll suggests Trump has more opportunity in Florida than some think is realistic, given his poor standing with Hispanics. But he does well with groups that are key to winning there, including older, more reliable voters. Clinton depends on younger voters and a strong presence at the polls of black and non-Cuban Hispanics."
