OpenAI's ChatGPT Go subscription is currently free in India. The AI company from San Francisco revealed this offer last week during its first DevDay Exchange event in India, which will take place on Tuesday. The Go plan was initially launched in August as a more affordable option compared to the Plus subscription. It costs Rs. 399 each month instead of Plus’s Rs. 1,950 monthly fee. However, Indian users can now enjoy this offer for the next 12 months at no charge. Activating the plan is simple, and we have provided the steps below. As noted earlier, the ChatGPT Go plan is positioned between the free plan and the Plus subscription. This plan was specifically introduced for India, but the company has expressed its desire to expand to other areas. Being a budget-friendly or introductory subscription, this tier unfortunately does not include any new features like video creation or access to the Codex agent.
Still, it provides various advantages that will be beneficial to many users, especially if you use the platform frequently. The ChatGPT Go plan includes all the features from the free version and significantly increases limits for sending messages, uploading files, and generating images by ten times. The main advantage of this plan is for users seeking longer access to the company’s newest model, GPT-5. Additionally, the new plan allows for greater limits in Python and other tools for data analysis. It also provides access to projects, tasks, and custom GPTs, enabling users to manage their work, monitor progress, and create or enhance AI tools suited to their requirements.
To get started, open ChatGPT on the web and log into the account where you want to get the subscription. After logging in, a pop-up will show up titled “Try Go, Free.” Click on the Try Go button at the bottom. This button will take you to the pricing page where you can see all the ChatGPT subscription options. The Go plan will be listed at Rs. 0. Click on Upgrade to Go. Then, you'll be directed to the payments page, where you’ll need to make a payment of Rs. 0 using UPI, credit or debit cards, or bank transfer. Make sure to turn off autopay to prevent charges after the free period ends. That’s it. Your ChatGPT Go plan is now activated.
