Actor Rhea Chakraborty exited Sushant Singh Rajput’s Bandra home six days prior to his death, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) determined she was neither manipulative nor involved in any assistance toward his suicide, according to the conclusion of their report on the 2020 case. The agency stated that there was no proof indicating Rhea Chakraborty or any of the accused engaged in illegal confinement, intimidation, or encouraged Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide. The CBI's report, presented earlier this year, clears Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives of all allegations made by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, who accused them of aiding in his death, conspiring, and committing financial fraud. Nevertheless, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family labeled the report “an eyewash,” indicating they would dispute it in court.

The CBI report confirmed that Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty departed Sushant Singh Rajput’s Bandra apartment on June 8, 2020, and did not see him afterward. “None of the accused individuals lived or stayed with him from June 8 to June 14,” stated the report. The two did not have any interactions after Rhea's departure, apart from one WhatsApp message exchanged between Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput on June 10. The report indicated that Meetu Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, resided with him from June 8 until June 12, just before his passing. His manager, Shruti Modi, mentioned in the FIR, had not visited since February that year because of a leg injury. In response to accusations that Rhea Chakraborty took Sushant Singh Rajput’s possessions, the CBI discovered that she only took her Apple laptop and wristwatch, both gifts from him.

“There is no evidence that suggests any property was taken dishonestly or without Sushant’s consent,” noted the report. The findings emphasize that the couple had been living together since April 2019 and that Sushant Singh Rajput himself regarded Rhea Chakraborty as “part of the family.” Payments related to her were managed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s accountant and lawyer based on his directions, therefore it did not amount to fraud or financial pressure. “Evidence doesn’t show any movable property being handed to Rhea by pressuring or misleading Sushant,” stated the agency. The report rejected allegations that Rhea Chakraborty threatened Sushant Singh Rajput or incited him to take his own life. “The only claim is that Sushant informed his family Rhea had threatened to disclose his medical records; this is considered hearsay,” the report explained. The agency concluded that there was no urgent provocation or aid leading to the suicide and no illegal detention or confinement.
