Samsung is the only big phone company that hasn’t revealed its new top model yet. Recently, other brands like Apple, OnePlus, and Vivo have introduced their latest high-end smartphones. However, that will soon change, as rumors suggest that Samsung is getting ready to unveil the Galaxy S26 series in the next few weeks. Over the past weeks, there have been many reports about the design, display, performance, and battery of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. There are also early leaks about the Galaxy S27 series, which won’t be released for more than a year. We will explore everything we know regarding Samsung's top models before their expected launch, as well as Samsung's future plans for the Galaxy S27.
As per insider Ice Universe on X, Samsung plans to present the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, at an event in San Francisco, USA. This matches earlier leaks that suggested the same date and place. It appears the company chose San Francisco to highlight its emphasis on AI capabilities in its flagship devices. The city is known for its many AI startups. Customers might have to wait until early March to actually purchase Samsung's newest flagship phones. Another tipster, @Evleaks, confirmed this information. Generally, Samsung reveals the S series every January. However, this year seems different, as the company reportedly postponed the release after it decided against replacing the Galaxy S26 Plus with a Galaxy S26 Edge. The thinner Edge version is thought to be on hold for now.
Leaked pictures show slight updates in design. The Galaxy S26 series is predicted to have a consistent camera layout across all models, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy S26 Ultra might feature more rounded edges and new color choices. Additionally, it could come with a rounded S Pen to match its redesigned look. If this is true, it would be the first change in the camera module design since the Galaxy S22 series. Regarding the display, reports indicate the Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with a 6.9-inch QHD Samsung M14 OLED screen that includes a new privacy feature. The regular Galaxy S26 is expected to have a smaller 6.2-inch QHD OLED display. The S26 Plus is said to have a 6.9-inch OLED display, making its size similar to that of the Ultra version.
Samsung is anticipated to implement a divided approach for the chipset in the Galaxy S26 series. Certain areas are likely to receive Samsung's latest Exynos 2600 SoC, claimed to be the first smartphone chipset worldwide produced using a 2nm process. Other regions are expected to utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However, it's uncertain how Samsung will manage this rollout. The South Korean company is also said to be introducing additional AI features with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 5,000mAh battery, but it will support 60W wired fast charging, an upgrade from the 45W found in the S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S26 might include a new 4,300mAh battery, while the S26 Plus is likely to keep a 4,900mAh cell. There are also rumors suggesting that the devices will support Qi2 wireless charging, making them able to work with Apple’s MagSafe.
Regarding the camera, while major changes are not anticipated this year, Samsung is preparing for some enhancements. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is believed to have less lens flare and improved image processing compared to the previous model. The S26 Ultra is expected to maintain a quad-camera setup, which includes a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel 5x periscope telephoto lens. The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are rumored to feature a new 12-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, alongside a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. After some doubts about the pricing for the Galaxy S26 series, it is thought that Samsung will keep the prices the same as those of the Galaxy S25 series. The Galaxy S25 was launched in India for Rs 80,999, while the Galaxy S25 Plus began at Rs 99,999. The high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra was priced at Rs 1,29,999.
Although Samsung has not yet launched the Galaxy S26 series, rumors about the Galaxy S27 lineup are already surfacing. Ice Universe reports that the Galaxy S27 Ultra might come with a significant camera upgrade. The source has suggested that Samsung is planning entirely new primary, ultrawide, and selfie cameras for its 2027 flagship model. However, it’s still early, and details may evolve as time goes on.
